Preply currently offers classes in 55 subjects and for all ages. Preply allows you to teach whatever subject(s) that you specialize in - not only English. Preply offers classes in languages, mathematics, physical sciences, social sciences, computer science, web site development, humanities, test preparation, school and university subjects, hobbies and art, etc. If you are able to teach the subject, then Preply will provide you access to a global market of eager students who want to learn from you during flexible hours that are convenient for you up to 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.

Not Necessary to Be Certified

Unlike most other Online Teaching Companies, Preply does not require their tutors to be certified. Teaching experience is recommended and - of course - will increase your chances to attract students, but if you are simply passionate about teaching, you can still sign up as a tutor on Preply.

How Much Will You Earn?

Your earnings with Preply depend on the hourly rate you set in the profile and how often you can provide lessons. If you have a wide availability and your profile is appealing to students, they are likely to book more lessons and as a result you will earn more. You can set and change your hourly rate at any time.

Most popular tutors on Preply earn up to $550 weekly. However, as you set your own rate, you are limited only by your availability and popularity.

Preply takes a 100% commission fee of your first lesson payment with every new student. This means that you must teach your first introductory class with each new student for free which allows Preply to guarantee to the student a 100% refund if he/she is not satisfied with your introductory class. For all subsequent lessons, the commission varies from 33 to 18% and depends on the number of completed lesson hours with students. The more tutoring you do through Preply, the less commission you pay.

Commission fees are used by Preply to provide the online infrastructure to ensure a stable user-base of students, take care of transferring payments to tutors’ accounts, provide constant customer support, and create website features that add value to your lessons.

Currently, 100% of Preply's commission is generated through the sales of tutoring hours on the platform, and is reinvested into marketing, programming, and platform development. Preply also offers discounts to students who purchase tutoring hours in bulk.

If you're happy with the first lesson, and if the student wants to continue taking lessons with you, he or she will prepay your classes through the Preply platform by choosing one of the packages available: 5, 10, 15 or 20 hours. The more hours that the student chooses, the greater the discount is for the student. Tutors are forwarded payments for each completed lesson once it is confirmed by the student.

Payment Methods

At Preply, after the student confirms the lesson, the tutor is credited with the amount of money they should receive based on the duration of the lesson and the hourly rate. You receive earnings directly from your Preply account to your bank card/account or another wallet via secure payment channels.

Money is kept in your Preply wallet and you can withdraw it anytime via Paypal, or Payoneer

As a Preply tutor, you will also receive a custom website domain to promote your services online. All tutors have the same rights and possibilities. Preply only charges commission from the lessons provided.

Preply shows your tutor profile in their search results for tutors. Your profile is visible in student search results and thus Preply brings new students to you. Your profile position is determined by four main factors: 1.) your availability; 2.) reviews from students who took lessons with you on Preply; 3.) the quality and detail of your tutor profile; 4.) your response time to requests and student messages.
